Moroccans prisoners of the Cinematic cave

We Moroccans are new to visual and cinematic culture, and when we go to cinema halls, we are like prisoners of the Platonic cave who were forced to remain silent in front of the shadow shadow reflected by the wall screen. We may be struck by the light and imagination of the screen inside the dark cinema hall, just as our fate would be if we left the hall and it was exposed. Our eyes are blinded by the light of reality. The biggest problem posed by the history of cinema is its relationship with reality. The movement of images gives the impression that we are facing a living and real reality. Christian Metz, a cinema semiology theorist, says: “The impression of reality” as raised by cinema transforms the system of représentation into a direction of more active reception of unconscious desire.
