The 2020 edition will take place at the Casa della Musica in Parma (p.le San Francesco 1), from 14 to 20 September, with screenings, events, concerts starting at 17.00.

The Film Festival assigns the first prize - GrandPrix "Violetta d’Oro" - to the soundtrack of the film
The international competition therefore rewards the best composer of music for images, but in addition to the first prize, other awards will follow:
the "Silver Violet" for best film,
Honorable Mentions for Best Photography, Best Performer, Best Screenplay, Best Documentary and Best Short Film
Moreover:
“Luigi Malerba Special Award” for the screenplay of the best short film;
“Special Award MUP” to the best young production without distributor
“Art-Pop Jury” Award assigned by the public of professionals who follow all the screenings of the film festival (directors, teachers, composers, university students);
“Special Award for the Dance Section” assigned to the best short film on dance.
The purpose of the initiative is to bring to the attention of the public not only good quality and recently produced film productions, but also to emphasize the value of musical writing for cinema as an essential element of the film's poetics and success.
The competition will also be an opportunity for filmmakers and producers to present their work to a varied audience and to a qualified international jury.
In competition 27 productions (feature films, musical, drama, comic, historical, current films, television dramas, animated films, short films and feature films) of all nationalities, subjects and lengths.
