Structure is screenwriting and sscreenwriting is script . It is based on characther motivations and abd that this characterb has to have a woound that motivates him to act ahead . Character has also to be flawed and active and what we call three-dimentional .
A screenplay, also called a script, is a written document that includes everything that is seen or heard on screen: locations, character dialogue, and action. From the first draft to its final incarnation, a screenplay tells a story. However, it is also a technical document that contains all the information needed to film a movie. So , let's contine to explain structure via a video in Moroccan dialect .

Nora Fatehi born February 6, 1992 in Toronto, Canada, is a Canadian-Moroccan dancer, model, actress, singer and producer known for her work in the Indian film industry.

Ranveer Singh is an Indian Bollywood actor. He enjoyed success from his first film, Band Baaja Baaraat. In a very short time, he became a real star and starred in commercial successes like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl or critical successes like Lootera.
Finished with those gaudy and strange movies in India named the masala films (1) ,New Indian cinema lightens the world with its beautiful stars and show-business and even locally Moroccan bollyphiles are continuously becoming more Hindi fans than ever, writes ALLAL EL ALAOUI .
Arrived at the Golden hotel which faces a rising millinum town of Morocco called Salé (2) , Bina Paul a south Indian woman of Kerala, which is a magical place in Asia said to me why Salé film festival has not chosen an Indian film for competition this year 2006. Bina Paul is an artistic director and member of Kerala International film festival in the south of india . She came to Salé to become a member of jury of the international women film festival .
Salé was famous of her cinema theatres such as Collisé, El Malaki and opera . Although some of them were used as cinéclubs in the seventies especially the Opera theatre for cultural reasons and also for the promotion of cinema and cinemagoers ,animated by Nour Eddine Sail himself (3) , other cinemas just could not resist to project Indian movies just like Dosti and Mother India By Mahoob . Just after independence named proudly, the goden age,Hindi films were dubbed into Moroccan slang(Arabic) by local pioneer artists namely Ibrahim Essaih (4) , Hamidoo ; Said Bachir and others.
Ibrahim Essaih was right to dubb indian movies that time, because the
majority of the Moroccans were analphabets . Local Rabat intellectuals keep
making pressure on Moroccan governement to increase the budget for cultural purpuses.Yet,movies were nationally done in a shy manner, 2 films per year until the recent fund policy, which CCM, the national center of cinema has made ;14 to 30 fims per year.
Hindi cinema has been a major point of reference for Indian culture in this century. It has shaped and expressed the changing scenarios of modern India to an extent that no preceding art form could ever achieve. Hindi cinema has influenced the way in which people perceive various aspects of their own lives. With one mighty leap, Bollywood has gone from melodrama to youthful reality, reports Kevin Maher,The Times journalist In England. It is true that filmmakers in India have been plagiaristic to the extent that even Hollywood would remake Munnabhai MBBS and becomes Gangsta MD ;an American movie by Chris Tucker. The seven Samurai by Akira kurasawa became Sholay in 1975 by Bollywood legend Ramesh Sippy .
Thanks to Ismail Noormohamed Abdul-Rehman , known as Ismail Merchant, indian cinema becomes worldwild and because of his great talent as a producer and director , every good actor in the west would love to work with him . This man sells dreams of elegance and beauty, of dignity and propriety, of literate splendour and intellectual stature and above all, of traditional reverence and venerable taste,Lubna aziz writes on Al Ahram weekly. This seems contrary to the thoughts of Moulay Driss Jaiidi ,a local cinema critic who states that Hindi movies have bad taste on Moroccan cinemagoers .
Unlike CIFF , Cairo International film festival and carthage film festival , FIFM,the International film festival in Marrakesh, focuses only on European and American cinema and badly to Asiatic films , It is time that Grand Maghreb mainly Morocco, because of its arising bollyphiles who watch nearly 80 new indian films per year out of 350 imported films , confirmed to me by Kamal Mghazli, an employee of CCM, Moroccan national center of cinema based in Rabat spearheaded by Nour eddine Sail. India now is one of the largest film producing nations in the world, with 1,013 films in 2001 and some 4.5 billion rupees in revenues in 2000 through exports, films are subject to various taxes (entertainment tax, new taxation release tax, show tax and property tax).
Interviewed with a house of film distribution , Amal films, a distributing house based in casablanca has stated that although the prevailing of CDs and DVDs , Bollywood cinema remains poweful in consuming and still welcomed in Morocco and especially now television holding SNRT and 2M are interested to diffuse films such as DEVDAS , LAGAAN and VEER-ZAARA highly praised by international critics around the world. I don’t know what Moulay Driss Jaiidi says about recent statistics of Bollywood Box office made by CCM that in 2003 Morocco imported 378 Hindi films , the number of fans were 3 783602 and ticket revenues were 36101026. Although CCM confirms that these stastics are not fully complete , but in 2006 up to june we had 264 Hindi films and ticket revenues were 581800.
Moulay Dris Jaiidi would love to see these numbers increasing in other cinema importations just like US hollywood and french cinema , but at least we could be honest and realistic to the Moroccan Bollyphiles.
Sometimes ships don’t head for the direction it wants , even in America and very often, Oscar nominees and winners are selected on the basis of considerations other than strictly artistic merit. This means, good cinema suffers, writes Gataman Bhaskaran. Prabably we won’t see any Hindu film being selected on competition this year in Marrakech 2006 just because there are still some constipated mentalities that favor American and Eureopean films than any good indian films . FIFM, bureau de la fondation (5) should think this matter seriously about Bollywood cinema because apparently the cinemagoers and producers already think of Morocco as a magical place to shoot future films instead of making them in Swisland .This European country makes heavy taxes on commecials films favored by the legendary producer Mukesh Bhatt (6) . Besides, Morocco is still open to all Indian producers to work by showing easy policy to show-business .CCM has now two recorded clips ,one is NAACH produced by Varma corporation limited, shot around Tangiers, Marrakesh,Agadir ,Essaouira and the second is HALKI NEEND/SARU produced by Corner pocket films ,shot in Marrakesh ans Essaouira .
Quentin taratino and Micheal moore , famous and respected filmmakers in America ,encourage to pirate their films, unlike Amitabh Bachchan, a mega-star and ambassador of IIFA ; international indian film academy , disagrees about hacking films and resumes that this matter becomes a major problem and it is difficult to solve . thanks to Free market and Internet, cinephiles now enjoy to have millions of good films with good quality at home including the Indian ones. However, CCM locally keeps an eye on outlaw CD and DVD dealers Derb Rallef (7) in casablanca and swika (8) in Rabat ,and recently CCM Have ceised 400,000 CDS and DVDS containing all new hacked genres of International cinema including Bollywood films. CCM intends to fight against films hackers and hopefully cinema theatres will be open again.
Salé itself suffers a lot of cinema theatres being closed including Dawliz complexes (9) owned by a Moroccan filmmaker,Souhail Ben Barka. Now, in Salé there is only one cinema open , found in a popular ghetto called EL WAD (10) . This cinema theatre is called Hollywwod and ironically accepts only bollywood movies.
Salé women festival was unlucky this year to have an indian film in competition but it could have thought only one of those three womenish films that deal with ‘ modern feminism’ in India traditions namely Mohra 1994, Mother India, made in 1957 by Mehboob and Mirch Masala, made in 1989 by Ketan Mehta. Unlike Amitath Bachan who works on commercial films Jaya Bachchan, his wife ,participates only in serious films ; starring in Satyajit Ray's Mahanagar (The Big City 1963), who is influenced by Neo-realism cinema « Pather Panchali » .This type of cinema is called art films in India which is more stylish treating human conditions, and is similar to the cinema d’auteur in Europe. No doubt that Nair Mair a filmmaker installed in America , famous of her , « Salaam Mumbay » and now with her latest film « Namesake » wakes up America and Europe to recognize the potential of Indian cinema.
Indian Cinema has always been loved by Moroccan cinemagoers and bollyphiles and even since its early start with legendary Dhundiraj Govind Phalke (1870 - 1944) affectionately called Dadasaheb Phalke is considered as the 'father of Indian Cinema'. Central in Phalke's career as a filmmaker was his fervent belief in the nationalistic philosophy of swadeshi, which advocated that Indians should take charge of their own economy in the perspective of future Independence. This was confirmed to me by the most respected filmmaker Yash Shopra who was in Marrakech in 2005 with his wife, Pamela Chopra . Going around Marrakeshi souks and suburbs especially the Jamaa el Fna (11) square, Yash shopra said how amazed and astonished he was by the Moroccan people and its traditions that really has great affinity with the ones in India. Both India and Pakistan Should be grateful for the symbolic union that gathers these two countries through VEERZAARA By Yash Shopra. It is an outstanding drama which tries to break the barriers separating two lovers, Veer Patra Sing (Shahrukh kan) and a Pakistani woman , Zarra Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta). When he projected his film at Berlin film festival, Yash Shopra was scared that the people would not understand the story , However ,at the end of the film, he saw people crying. The presence of Aishwarya Rai in Marrakesh , a former Miss World and Bollywood’s first genuine cross-over icon, , lightened Marrakech with her beauty and let all Marrakeshi young men eyes wild open. These artists are well honored by the Moroccan people and FIFM,the international film festival in Marrakesh. Morrocco now became known in Mumbay and the majority of Bollywood stars would love to come to this country.
Not far from Agadir, Las Palmas , a spanish litttle island, is overcrowded with indians and enjoyed the double culture there. Indians have immigrated to every corner of the globe with contingencies in South Africa, the Gulf countries, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada apart from the UK. Wherever the Indians go, their films and their food go with them. With curry and chutney now international favourite foods, it was inevitable that their exotic films, their melodies, the romantic strains of their sitar, the striking beauty of their leading ladies and the dark and daring magnetism of their dashing heroes would eventually reach the hearts of the West despite all of Rudyard Kipling's poetic protests, reports Lubna Abdel Aziz, from Cairo Al Ahram weekly . Of course, he did not know then the strength and might of the Seventh Art, which proved to be the best meeting ground for East, West, North and South.
Many critics in Morocco would immeditaly judged Indian cinema as an emotional cinema which only seeks imposssible love, and therefore damages the taste with its chosen six songs and pharonic scenes and yet praised and admired by others just like Razak, a Hindu fan and film critic who is illuminated by its new wave , indepentent anti-studio cinema , pioneered by Madhur Bhandarkar .Razak continiously makes local cinephiles more aware about Indian cinema using his power as a wonderful plume .He writes how exquisite , beautiful and magnificanctly arising and yet glorifying world wild Hindi cinema is.He also predicted in his RABAT EXPRESS newspaper that « BLACK » of Sanjay Leela Bhansali with Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee as best actor and actresse ,would win an Oscar in Dubai during IIFA film festival this year 2006.His prophecy became true in the United Arab of Emirates last june during IIFA ceremony in Dubai. By the way, the Arab world is also fascinated by this genre of Cinema .Whenever you go, Bollywood movies prevail in popular theatres, for example ,Cairo, casablanca and Dubai cinemas are full with bollywood fans, and you can hardly find your ticket. Now resoursefully, people in Mumbay listen carefully to European cinephiles who admire latest of Sanjay Leela Bhansali « BLACK » because simply of its new style without using songs and exotic scenes.
Ideas like creating an agency that deals only with Bollywood films and Wizcraft artistic communications becomes a wish not only for Razak , Ahmed
Sijilmassi but also for Abdelillah Al Jawhari and Allal El Alaoui (12) . Those tink-tanks see that it is time to sit down, and dicuss continuous meeetings where film distributers, producers and fimmakers tackle mechanism and the future of Indian cinema.
Since the The first film in Southern India was made in 1916 by R Nataraja Mudaliar- Keechaka Vadham, the hindu wish to impose their style of making cinema . Now thanks to wizcraft agency, India’s first and premier event management and entertainment agency, pioneered by Wiz Andre Timmins , Wiz Viraf Sarkari , Wiz Sabbas Joseph . These men are giving power to IIFA to become more world class ceremony.

Morocco has, alas, missed this year 2006 appointement, but rumours say that 2008 IIFA awards will be one hundred per cent Moroccan . This pushes Yorkshire to swiftly call for IIFA festival to be held in its land. So, Lata Mangeshkar, a Guiness record holder, Mukesh, Mahmood Rafi and Kishore, will sing Godlike lyrics to beautify British souls . Yorkshire lads and birds including five millions Asians would enjoy beautiful movies when they would put the kettle on.
Yorkshire then hosts IIFA , the international Indian film academy awards , oscar-style and is backed by brillant staff of Yorkshire tourist Board whose chairman is Judith Donovan including members of YTB such as Sir Thomas Ingilby , Colin Brown , Zulfi Karim, Cllr. Carl Les and others .They already mise-en – scene the platform of the seventh edition festival already called – Love at first sight.
Surely the seventh edition of the IIFA festival will shake cinema lovers and bollyphiles around the globe especially Yorkshire plays the leading cultural link between the fiveth continent. Stratford -upon - even where William shakespeare is born ; a few kilometres from quintessential Yorkshire towns where the festival will be held , Richmond Old theatre eighteen century and the glittering town Leeds ,these local cultual treasures of Yorkshire will be seen and honored.
Famous personality & Celebrities will invade British Islands mainly Amitah Bachan, Karishma Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit and Shah Ruhk Khan who reports on himself ‘I have created a myth. Sometimes I think of myself in the third person – I’m ‘the’ Shah Rukh Khan now. He’s a brand of his own. It’s not me any more. Now a myth is created. This is what my films have created. That myth can be called King Khan.’ Yorkshire expects millions and millions of tourists from around the world. The event is expected to boost tourism income across the region by nearly 10 million pounds. The inaugural IIFA awards event was held at London's Millennium Dome in 2000. The summer of 2007 is also expected to attract nearly 30,000 people from Europe, India, southeast Asia and the US, and signifies the exalted status the Indian film industry has attained in Britain.
FIFM bureau de la fondation, CCM (13) and house distibution in Morocco should consider and give importance and value to Hindi cinema and especially the taste of passionate Moroccan people who just love this cinema. In academic circles here, LA Times (14) reports that Indian films are no longer seen as quaint, gaudy and oriental items, but a resilient cultural powerhouse in the subcontinent that challenges the near-global domination of Hollywood films.
Muqtedar Khan (15) writes that India is already well situated to become a major economic and cultural power worldwide. Indian culture, through the popularity of Indian cinema, is already giving India the kind of "soft power" that only America enjoys worldwide.
Bina paul will never forget Salé and its traditions . With her digital camera , she took pitures of women tatooing their hands with El Hana, a spiritual herb also used in India for the same purpose. She carefully took notes of those women making their spiritual journeys to Marabouts (16) . This reminds Bina of her people doing the same pilgrimage not of course to Marabouts, but to cinema theatres where they expect good endings eternel heroes , widows and homeless children.
Coming out from El Madrassa al Bouanania (17), bina paul amazed by its marvellous Islamic frisks , remembered her colleague filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan from Kerala saying that India has always been an immence bazar of images .

Aristotle mentioned structure but he also mentioned Catharsis . Cartharsis is an emotional vomit by character .Some screenwriters use this technique right in the first scenes ,however Cartharis is very often used at end because it is related to emotions that come out from character after going through obstacles. So , here another video in the Moroccan dialect explaining that element in screenwriting.

American screenwriting teacher Syd Field first articulates the three-act model: setup, confrontation, and resolution with a turning point towards the end of the first act (the provoking event) or the inciting incident that is considered to be a major element that drives the main character towards the crisis. We continue to give a new lesson on structure in Moroccan dialect waiting for that moment to publish videos in English .

Screenwriting is the most difficult job in the world.it is a craft based on writing everyday and of course you have to have a descipline that means you have to choose a time to write wether in the morning , evening or night . you have to write and get yourself to write until you reach the
the time of rewriting . so let's carry on to undestand this 15 minutes video from my youtube channel chapter 3 in Moroccan dialect.

Francois Truffaux 's cinephilia begins with watching VHS video cassettes, that means had Truffaux been alive in our days , he would go to buy CDs And DVDs from Shops just like Foad 's one .Cinemagoers in Morocco ask for Cinema D'autheur ,because its good quality imposes itself to educate the taste .
Although Essamarine Undergoes severe control of CCM ,known as El Kissaria in Rabat and Derb Ghellaf in Casablanca , shops of classical cinema resist the pressure that the authorities practises on them .Now, It is obvious that the power of buying is active around El Kissariyaa and no doubt that in Morocco like other countries , the culture of image is amasingly having a boom thanks to the policy of cinema productions .As a result, cinephilia grows considerably very well.Strangely and legally in Morocco, Alchohol is allowed in shops and super-markets ,but cinema of great quality is forbidden. This dilemma metamorphoses the semi-western culture that a muslim country like Morocco is having . For some, it is a paradize lost and for others it is a ferocious
fight between the sacred and the profane. This echoes a victory of the culture of image and its education on taste cinematographically. From this context, i went to downtown El Essamarine Al kissaria to interview Foad Beniouri , one of the distinguished young cinemagoers in Rabat, that thanks to him cinephilia comes back and becomes popular .
Allal-cinemagoer : How come do you obtain all these schools of cinema burnt in DVD just in a little tiny shop here in Rabat ?
Foad : It is genetic .I mean it comes from my Father .Here in Rabat ,when i was a child ,my father used to take me to watch western movies .I mean to say movies with Hollywoodian stars like Kirk Douglas and Burnt Lancaster .Well ,I watched all these movies at Cinema Star in the north of Rabat near the sea, the place called l'Ocean .
Allal-cinemagoer : Was it sort of a hobby ?
Foad : Yes, it was .the days of my childhood was beautiful and exciting, full of actions .So, I had some options in front of me either to fish or go to movies with my father and sometimes i stayed at home reading literature .As i grew up a little bit , i began to think of myself .How can i face my life ? The option to go to the north of Morocco and bring smart clothers and resell them was an idea that overtook my thinking ,and indeed i started to bring some special things from Tangier ,Tetwan and Nador .Usually Moroccans want handsome goods that come from Spain or from Asiatic countries like Thaiwan and China.
Allal-cinemagoer : Time has changed with the coming of the digital tools and machines ?
Foad : Excactly. You mean in 2000.Eveybody worries about the future of mankind especially the banks ,because number 0 would change that time to whatever .But, what amazes me so much is that the big interest of film-makers who had great faith and fell quickly in love with digital cinema ..First, there came DVX cinema.People enjoyed this genre of cinema vey much and then VCD came out and clients were more interested of this kind of revolution .I remembered that we sold DVX about 150DH per one.Later on,a friend of mine contacted me and proposed to work with him .This latter knew that i was a big fan of classical cinema and we started to work on DVDs which were valuable that time .
Allal-cinemagoer :May be you had that idea to burn western movies , because you knew that Moroccan cinemagoers would ask for them ?
Foad : Moroccan cinephiles have excellent taste .It is true that they want cow-boy movies , but too many asked me about classical cinema.People wanted to see again great films of great directors at home and you know what it means to watch a movie in DVD. So, i started to burn all movies of Akira Kurasawa, Russian cinema and of course Cinema d'autheur .People usually watch VHS movies but DVD quickly is appreciated by too many cinema lovers .DVD has an excellent quality in resolution as far as image is concerend but VHS has low and poor quality .Besides , cinemagoers love to have a DVD library at home .
Allal-cinemagoer : Too many Moroccan film-directors and cinephiles come to your shop to buy DVD movies just like Daoud Aoulad-Syad, Abderrahman Tazi,Mohamed Eddahane and Barkach and also people from The federal association too .What strikes me most is that too many Moroccan film -directors do not want to have their films in DVS.It is strange,is not it ? .CCM could have burnt Moroccan classical cinema to promote cinephilia ever since 1944 .What do you think of this self-control that CCM is doing ?
Foad : Nabil Ayouch has accepted to burn his movies into DVD.If you look around , you will find his movie, Ali Zawa still in the market. There is also Leila Marrakechi 's film -Marock -
Allal-cinemagoer: But, these film-directors are born in France .Mentality is different.
Foad : So what .they are Moroccan .They are like those American film-directors .I mean to say ; Quentin Tarantino and Michael Moore .Those people say that their films can be hacked in the net ,because as i said to you before, those people respected Cinephilia.I think it is about Intelligence. This policy of encouraging piracy seduces more cinemagoers to watch their films .Suppose that a Moroccan film maker has made a movie that costs a lot of money , but nobody goes to see it.it is a disaster,is not it ? . On the contrary, if this film-maker encourages people to hack his movie, his movie will be seen everywhere, because i think it i is a nice technique to ad your goods through this method, knowing also that publicity plays a major role not only to finance movies , but also it pushes people to go to cinemas or come to buy movies from our shops.T think the
club of Quentin , Nabil and Michael is overcrowded considerably and you may go and visit their sites on the net and you will be surprised how many people are still asking about their movies .However,i am with the opening and reopening of the Moroccan -cinema theatres.Cinemas are the ideal place to dream as we did when we were children.
Allal-cinemagoer: Producing cinema with new visions, does it mean to you something ? the independence cinema and literature .Do these words mean to you someting ?
Foad : Remaking films is another step to promote cinema in the right way.I give some examples of our national directors .Souhail Ben Barka has remade a spanish novel may be taken from Cervantens 'La noce de Sang'and also an internatioanl one calledOb Cried oh beloved country ' which becomes ' Amock'. Abdelelhay El Iraki has remade Edmond Rostand's Cyrano De Bergerac'which becomes 'Yakouta ', starring Mohamed Miftah and Fatima Khier .I have also heard that you have rewritten Callie Khoury's movie ' Thelma and Louis'which is now called " Zoubida and Zoulikha' and that Iman Mesbahi is interested to direct it . Morocco has changed deeply and this is confirmed in writing of great anthropologists like Abdellah Hamoudi and Triki. As you know that there is a peaceful fighting between Hollywood and Bollywood .But still one remakes the other which is great .That is to say,Hollywood remakes Bollywood and Vice-versa.
Now, 2M Tv has diffused ' Wjjae El Tourab by Shafik Shimi,a wonderful rewriting of Emil Zola's novel .I think it is a success.Eveybody talks about it in the street .I hope our film-directors shift 180 degrees to remake movies .I am still surprised why they don't produce Mohammed Choukri's novel ' Le Pain Nu '.I think it will be a beautiful movie and please tell me later what will happen to the box office locally. This shifts us to talk about the independence cinema of Jim Jurmush and John Cassavettes .These film-makers in America have guts and courage to tackle touchy subjects.People here in Morocco want to see mentalities of money holders to change. So ,in stead of investing on building houses and appartments, business men should produce movies in quantity and quality.
I also know that Ridly Scott , the british film-maker makes a big controvercy in Morocco by appealing against my colleagues of his later movie -American Gangaster - . What happens is that my colleagues were hasty to sell his movie. The USA embassy in Rabat makes an appeal for that and the resellor is now in prison.Ridly Scott,as he knows, has always been welcomed to shoot his movies in Morocco. Thanks to the people of Morocco, his movie " The Gladiator ' has been a great success.Do we merit to be punished this way,Scotty ? I think next time Ridly Scoot(Scoot means shut up in Moroccan dialog) might be stoned by kids as it happenend to Kamal Kamal in the south of Morocco (laughingly). what happens to Morocco in creating film festivals is something good ,because it is an opportunity for producers, film-makers and cinephiles to meet and talk .Moroccan producers should trust film-makers and let them express themselves .This is an important option to promote cinema here. May be it is time to make festivals in the south too. The south of Morocco has seduced international film makers namely the directors of photography .They know that the sky in the South is as pure as the soul of man.Movies like ' le thé au Sahara ' ' The Momies' and Marrakech' are a great success.

So,as i told you before that my book will be published very soon on screenwriting and its techniques . Screenwriting is structure .That means if you know how to build up structure , i think you will have a well written script . Of course , there are many teachers who have written about structure such as Syd Filed, John Truby , Robert Mckee and Black synder and more .I know that Aristotle was the first guru on structure because he emphysises on structure than protagonist .Here is my first course in Moroccan dialect published in my youtube channel six years ago .

Before publishing my book on screenwriting , I will write short synopsis on stories because apparently screenwriting is based on stories, and I understand why Robert McKee has chosen to entitle his book on screenwriting ; and names it story .
Arab poetry has an example of a beautiful tale or story of two lovers , Qais and Laila: the poet Qais Al-Laithi and Laila Al-Khuzaieh get married unplanned but the father of Leila divorces her and marries her to someone else, so Qais empties his heart into a collection of poetry.
There are many examples in Western literature , like for example Romeo and Juliet, a dramatic masterpiece of William Shakespeare: two noble families hate each and as a result, they separate the two lovers who marry secretly, but their love does not last .

The latter explores the ontology of the film image and its relation to the spatiotemporal aspect in the filmic narrative. Particularly, my work investigates the poetic nature of the long take as a technical and aesthetic instrument providing a new reality in the narrative and contributing intellectually to the development of the viewer’s metacognition. </p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 3px;">My cinephelia comes from my deep fascination of the infinite scope of what the film image can offer from its very beginnings either psychologically, aesthetically, or academically; and its predominant role in engaging the audience considering that their participation became a new way of addressing filmmaking techniques. The Master of studies in Film Aesthetics at the University of Oxford is indubitably a prosperous course in its provision of a wide collection of resources and its efficient programme structure in shaping the necessary analytical skills in addressing film form, film criticism, film theory and philosophy. Equally important is being an Ertegun scholar where I engage in a diverse community of intellectuals with different humanistic disciplines. After all, the cinema is a universal language and a cultural institution, it is the seventh art that has developed in close interactions with wide variety of humanistic disciplines.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 3px;">Relatively, my current research interest tackles national identity in colonial and postcolonial Moroccan cinema. During the zenith of colonialism, films were used as means of propaganda to legitimise, prolong, and represent the colonial rule within and beyond North Africa. Therefore, I am interested in addressing the issue of the reification of Moroccan national cinema, situating it in a historical and contemporary context, while exploring the controversial debate of the ambiguity of not having ‘a Moroccan National Cinema’</p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p><br /></p><div class="blogger-post-footer">cinema and movies</div>allal-cinemagoerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13312499718020282756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37031391.post-81581266778423849672022-10-23T21:35:00.004+01:002022-10-23T21:53:17.284+01:00Siga by Rabii El Jawhari<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3XdHDF90e0Swr-H5sOjP6Th_o5UPT-U9-iDF3aaFvWkgwgui8YOEzfKPIShI0sjSP8jWaMyPkpczKJhe42sh38r4VxPUPMH9bvi_XC0mDgar1TQR8tiYezU5XFw6UnxmCh6W-MeTmLD5xFOwaSM87Hi-5PDkeNieNs3OWe7OCEqjWAX1ADpo/s1024/unnamed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="683" data-original-width="1024" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3XdHDF90e0Swr-H5sOjP6Th_o5UPT-U9-iDF3aaFvWkgwgui8YOEzfKPIShI0sjSP8jWaMyPkpczKJhe42sh38r4VxPUPMH9bvi_XC0mDgar1TQR8tiYezU5XFw6UnxmCh6W-MeTmLD5xFOwaSM87Hi-5PDkeNieNs3OWe7OCEqjWAX1ADpo/s320/unnamed.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2HtuxZNR2M8oXWLhoB9BkJswhiGbZYvmJ4wd7aFxx_TJBIf7YhLt617Ild17lmfvt79V_o3Uv3fHaYRUGb8YRDFbLBnSXwVa8WflJzQVM4aJKdVkUiVlV_PChEBFVWNixPekkSTo_3gvjE5OHsu2KiCLJ8_uR-kRzni-z4ByM4BPebQkc0_Q/s1280/unnamed%20(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="894" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2HtuxZNR2M8oXWLhoB9BkJswhiGbZYvmJ4wd7aFxx_TJBIf7YhLt617Ild17lmfvt79V_o3Uv3fHaYRUGb8YRDFbLBnSXwVa8WflJzQVM4aJKdVkUiVlV_PChEBFVWNixPekkSTo_3gvjE5OHsu2KiCLJ8_uR-kRzni-z4ByM4BPebQkc0_Q/s320/unnamed%20(1).jpg" width="224" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; text-indent: 36pt;"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 24pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;">Siga<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; text-indent: 36pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;">Moroccan Post Narrative Movie</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;">Siga is a film written and directed by Rabii El Jawhari, produced by
Mustapha Bouhalba. It was premiered in Dakhla, Rabat, Ouarzazate, Ouazzane and
Tanger and it is now about to be released in Morocco on November 2, 2022. It is
worth seeing owing to its wonderful action scenes, different Moroccan music
from Amazigh, Hassani, Rifi and Arabic styles, love stories and many more. El
Jawhari wrote this movie after he had attended the festival of Geneva in 2013
where he screened one of his documentaries. He found himself there confronted with
many false claims constructed by a propagandized documentary film. He publicly
discussed the film with his filmmaker who could neither prove his claims nor refute
El Jawhari’s historical evidence. World journalists wrote about that event
seeing that they for the first time hear about the strong interaction between
all Moroccan areas, namely the far north with the south. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;">This is how El Jawhari has decided to write this movie to explain the
Moroccan cause. Unfortunately, the screenplay was rejected so many times from
the committee of funding though it defends the Moroccan cause and refutes the
colonial and propagandized claims against the Moroccan Sahara. Bouhalba decided
to produce this movie at his own expense and he started shooting directly after
the strict lockdown caused by Covid 19, which was very hard since the movements
within the country in particular and the world in general was still hard. Siga’s
post production was completed and premiered in several Moroccan cities where
the audiences liked the film. The press, moreover, accompanied this success,
but unfortunately the committee of the cinematic fund rejected it again without
any logical reason. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;">Siga tells the story of Abdelghafour (Houcine Bouhcin), a Moroccan
journalist who writes about the historical and familial links between the north
and the south of Morocco. Al Batal (Tawfiq Charaf Eddine), a chief of a militia
group in Tindouf, kidnapped Abdelghafour and separated him from Fatimato
(Fadila El Hamel), a girl whom Abdelghafour loves so much. Abdelghafour spends
more that 20 years in horrible prisons that are unprecedented in world history.
One day, Abdelghafour addresses his torturer, “if you lived in Morocco, you
would be much better than me”. This marks a disruption in Al Batal’s
psychological state because it stimulates his unconscious cultural heritage.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi;"> El Jawhari creates a loophole
rather than a logical transition to allow his audience access directly to the
mind of Al Batal. He does not opt for the flashback technique to link between
the different eras in Siga, but rather gives the chance to the audience to feel
just like Al Batal does when he experiences sudden emotional, unexpected and
abrupt transitions from the present time to the 13th or 19th
centuries when his ancestors lived. El Jawhari wants to give two levels of his
narrative. The first one is fragmented. It signifies the theme of separation
that stands for the polisario, while the second level conveys the strong
energetic continuity amongst these stories in the mind of Al Batal who turns
out to be someone who reflects the Moroccan cultural heritage before it is
manipulated by colonization. The narrative apparently is fragmented but, in its
core and depth, it is linear. This is to indicate that Al Batal, who suffers
bipolar symptoms, will transcend the psychological disruption caused by
colonization and opt for being coherent with his convictions, leading him to
escape from Tindouf along with Abdelghafour. It is this situation according to
which El Jawhari constructs his filmic narrative. Siga, therefore, is
considered to be a “post narrative” film because El Jawhari interweaves
fragmentation with linearity. For him, his narrative imitates the Moroccan
Fusaifisae (tiles/mosaic) that makes its viewer think at first glance that it
is nothing but fragments of shapes and colors. The same viewer, eventually,
discovers the interrelated and dynamic meaningful shapes that generates new
shapes in an ongoing process just like the different facades of the same
crystal. This is how Siga is filmed. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p>

different roles. They excel in changing from one situation to another and

great actors are: Houcine Bouhcine, Fadila EL Hamel, Tawfiq Charaf Eddine,
Fatima Bouchan, Sidi Ahmed Chaggaf, Mohamed Bhiaj, Sara Dryouch, Mustapha
